J&K: Encounter underway at Chatabal; assistant commandant injured

In Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists attacked civilians, killing three people.

Police on Saturday recovered bodies of two persons at Shahgund area of Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

A senior police officer said that some locals informed the concerned police station about lying of the bullet riddled bodies near Rahimder Mohalla. Immediately, a police team reached the spot and took the bodies for post mortem.

The official identified the duo as Hassan Rassa and  Bashir Ahmad Rassa.

In another incident, one civilian Mohammad Ashraf Mir, who was fired upon by terrorists at Harwan, Bomai Sopore, also succombed to injuries. His wife was also also shot in both her legs.

In yet another development, an encounter started between terrorists and security forces at Chatabal area in Srinagar, Kashmir. Two to three terrorists are suspected to be hiding.

One Assistant commandant has been hit by a bullet in his toe and has been evacuated to 92 base hospital.
