In Uttarakhand, houses and vehicles have been damaged in Chamoli district’s Tharali area due to heavy rain and cloudburst on Monday.
Police and local administration have arrived in Ghat’s Kundi village, where houses and vehicles were damaged.
Relief and rescue operation are being carried out. No loss of life being reported so far.
In Gujarat’s Navsari district, due to heavy rainfall and unrest in the sea for about 3-4 days, the Vasi-Borsi villages are submerged in water.
The protection wall of the village broke down and since then the water has entered the villages and the life of people is being affected.
Meanwhile, torrential rain wreaked havoc in Odisha’s Rayagada district, throwing normal life out of gear.
While Nagavali and Bansadhara rivers are flowing above the danger mark, communication is disrupted in some places of Bissamcuttack and Ramanaguda blocks.
Down south, with heavy rain continuing to lash Kerala, educational institutions in at least 7 districts have declared a holiday for Monday.
Collectors of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathnamthitta, Alapuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam have declared holiday due to heavy rains. Kerala University has postponed all its examinations scheduled for Monday, but Cochin University of Science and Technology will function.
Southwest monsoon has been active over Kerala and rains occurred at most places in Lakshadweep as well.
